Mamelodi Sundowns and Lamontville Golden Arrows named their starting elevens ahead of the Carling Knockout Cup this evening at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Sundowns have shifted their focus to the Carling Knockout Cup after failing to win the MTN8 once again. Downs had a chaotic start to the season after they were eliminated by Stellenbosch in the MTN8 without scoring in regular time.

Meanwhile, Arrows had a bright start of the campaign, but things turned sour before the international breaking suffering back to back defeats against Magesi and Sekhukhune United.

“S’thende Nation” went as far as reaching the quarterfinals last season and this season they aim to go beyond that and possible clinch the trophy for the first time since they last won MTN8 in 2009.
These two sides faced each other once in this competition (then the Telkom Knockout) in 2019 and Sundowns was victorious by 2-1, Gaston Sirino and Hlompho Kekana scored for Masandawana and Nduduzo Sibiya scored for Arrows.
