Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed he told Ranga Chivaviro he would score in the second half against SuperSport United despite his late first-half miss.
Chivaviro netted Amakhosi’s third goal and sent a message to the fans, after he had received some backlash after missing two good chances earlier in the game, especially in first-half injury-time when his shot just missed the goal.
Nabi was asked about Chivaviro’s reaction and message to the fans after the striker was also seen running to his coach after he found the back of the net.
“You know sometimes it’s not easy for a striker, but it’s football,” the Tunisian tactician told SuperSport.

“I don’t need [to have] an emotional reaction like the fans. It’s my responsibility to support my player.
“I promised him he will score, thank you Allah he scored.”
Saturday’s goal was Chivaviro’s third in the 2024/25 season, and he’s now almost matched his tally from last season when he netted just four times.
