Kaizer Jr – Why We Signed Kaze

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has explained why the club opted to rope in Cedric Kaze as assistant coach to Nasreddine Nabi.

The Burundi-born tactician brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, having previously worked alongside Nabi at Young Africans, where they won six trophies together in two seasons.

Kaze holds a CAF A Licence, as well as a German Football Federation A licence. He has vast experience after previously coaching at youth level, FC Barcelona’s famed academy and head coach in Burundian, Rwandan and Tanzanian domestic football.

The 45-year-old joins Amakhosi as direct replacement for Fernando da Cruz who joined the Moroccan Football Federation after just two months with Amakhosi.

“Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career,” Motaung Jr told the club’s website.

“His familiarity with coach Nabi’s methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch.”
