With all the scoring troubles that SuperSport United have had, the club has finally confirmed the arrival of Ethiopian striker Abubeker Nasir.
Nasir moves from crosstown rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, where he has played since arriving from his homeland.
A statement from the club confirmed the signing.
“NEW SIGNING ALERT
“SuperSport United is pleased to confirm the signing of Ethiopian striker, Abubeker Nasir from Mamelodi Sundowns on a one-year deal.
“Welcome Home, Abubeker!” reads the statement from the Tshwane outfit.
Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi had confirmed a month ago already that the attacker had moved to Matsatsantsa on loan, having also stressed the importance of him receiving as much game-time elsewhere as possible after recovering from his injury.
He is set to boost a frontline that is currently looking thin, especially with Bradley Grobler out injured until sometime next year.
