Orlando Pirates loanee Siphelo Baloni has opened up about a move to Mamelodi Sundowns that never happened saying he wasn’t told sooner about the interest.
Baloni joined Pirates from the now defunct Cape Town All Stars last season, however struggled for game time and found himself on a season-long loan move at Chippa United.

The 24-year-old told iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 179 of the newspaper that recent Wydad Casablance assistant coach Sinethemba Badela mentioned the Brazilians’ interest to him. The player says he felt he should have been told about it so he could have make an informed choice between Sundowns and Pirates.
“I remember there was this other day I had a meeting with coach Themba, he told me that Sundowns has been looking for me, but I didn’t want to tell you.” Baloni told iDiski Times.
“I told him that I think he should have told me because now I’ve already signed at Pirates. If he told me, I was going to say that Pirates should wait until the season ends so I should decide if I am taking this one or not.
“But I also thought about it, Pirates is a big team and I’m young, I’m from the NFD. It is something else for me. It is a big achievement and also if I go there, it is fine I am going to face some challenges.”
