President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government
The Ministry’s responsibility is to manage and oversee the administration of regional development. As a result, the ministry coordinates policies and strategies for managing rural and urban development, as well as the activities of regional secretariats, and increases their capacity for institutional development strategies for the combined socioeconomic and financial development of local government authorities.
The Ministry also issues ministerial directives to Regional Secretariats and Local Government Authorities, coordinates and monitors sectoral interventions on donor-supported programs at district and other local levels, and improves the channels of communication and information flow between the national and sub-national levels.
