TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has revealed that head coach Sead Ramovic’s shock resignation actually happened on Sunday with Wednesday just being a formality.
The 45-year-old German-born tactician shocked the local football fraternity when he announced in his post-match interview that he was stepping away from his role as coach of The Rockets following their 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC.
The Mpumalanga-based outfit have struggled to hit form this term and were eliminated from the both the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup competitions and are also yet to register a win in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership this campaign, languishing at the base of the log standings.
In his interview with Andile Ncube on Metro FM’s Sports Night Amplified, Sukazi revealed that him and the coach had prior discussions before his resignation on TV.
“Yeah, I was aware,” Sukazi said after being asked if Ramovic had informed him of his decision to leave.
“Actually, what you don’t know Andile is that Sead announced his resignation on Sunday after our match against Magesi and then on Monday, him and I sat down.
“He announced it to the team after the game at the change room that Wednesday would be his last game, he’s resigning, great.
“Then we met on Monday and went through whatever we had to go through and discuss. And we went into the game against Stellenbosch knowing that he has resigned, it his last game.
“And my message to the team before the game was, once he was done with his tactical analysis and other things stuff, I said to the team, ‘This being the last game of our coach, we know well that he has contributed a lot to this club. He has shaped many of you, your careers in particular, so, all you could tonight is give him a resounding send-off’.
