Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart admits Gaston Sirino has brought immense quality but there’s a couple of players also stepping up this season.
Sirino has made an instant impact at Chiefs since joining the club upon leaving Mamelodi Sundowns where he spent six seasons.
The 33-year-old playmaker has scored once with two assists in his opening three league games and bringing out more from the likes of Ranga Chivaviro, Mdududzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba around him.
“I think there’s a few players who are [stepping up] this season, to be honest to you and Sirino is a quality player, you can’t take it away from him,” Maart said.
“He’s making a difference in the team and we appreciate it as a team, he’s a happy person, he’s a jokey person and there are times when he’s very serious where work is work.”
Maart also mentioned the appointment of Strength and Conditioning Coach Majdi Safi was been one of the key factors to their improvements so far.
“I think what he [Majdi] wants, he puts it out clearly for everyone, for each and every player and the technical team and what he wants, we have to give it to him.”
Chiefs secured the Cufa Cup this weekend after beating Marumo Gallants 4-3 on penalties ahead of their Carling Knockout last-16 tie against SuperSport United this weekend.
